Search Google in better way / Google Hacks

We all know how google is so important in our daily life. Whenever we need to find out the answer of any questions we take help of google. What if need to find out something which is in doc file or any pdf file. How will you search ?? Here is the answer of this question. Read it carefully it will help you to make your search fast and efficient.

Exclude Words:

Lets say if you want to search something in which you don't need to include some of text you can use this technique.To do this you have to use '-' symbol in front of that text which you don't want to include.

         Example Search: internet marketing -advertising   

Site Specific Search:

Lets say if you want to search something in a specific website which you know, for that you hav to use this technique. To do  this just type the word in double quotes(" ") and then type site : (colon) then name of the website .

       Example Search: "internet marketing" site: www.businessworld.com

Specific Document Search: 

Lets say if you want to search your text in a specific file only like document file, text file or pdf file.To do this type your text then type filetype :(colon) and then filetype.

      Example Search:  "internet marketing"  filetype : doc

Similar Words and Synonyms:

Lets say you want to search text, but want to include results that contains similar words or synonyms. To do this you have to use ~ symbol (it is near by 1 on your keyboard) before your synonym.

    Example Search : "internet marketing" ~professional  

This OR That: When you search on google it will search all the text which is in search box by default, but if you want to search 2 or more things you can use this technique.

     Example Search : internet marketing  OR iphone

(This will search all the contents from web which are having word internet marketing or iphone. )

If you want to search the result which are having both internet marketing and iphone (combination of both)

you can use AND 

       Example Search :   internet marketing  AND iphone

    

    (Note: OR and AND must be in capital Letter)

Phone Listing: Lets say if you want to search only phone number in google how will  you do this. Here is the example .

      Example Search : phonebook : 627-975-1652 (note: the provided number does not work – you’ll have to use a real number to get any results).

Area Code Lookup:

If all you need to do is to look-up the area code for a phone number, just enter the 3-digit area code and Google will tell you where it’s from.

     Example Search : 617

Calculator:

The next time you need to do a quick calculation, instead of bringing up the Calculator applet, you can just type your expression in to Google.

        Example Search : 48512 * 1.02

Word Definitions:

If you need to quickly look up the definition of a word or phrase, simply use the "define:" command.
